Despite the hardships, dream of how you'll conquer them tomorrow.” |
I had spent about a year throughout each piece, the plate being made my Freshman year in Highschool. the other four having been made my Junior year for AP Studio Art 3D.
The first piece is a Rough Collie with wires of gold and silver coming out from it's chest, the ends met with hearts, representing undying love. The second piece is a dog paw in a golden human hand, representing the golden bond humans and dogs have had for years. (Yes, the human hand is a little off, there was a slight miscalculation in sizing...) The third piece is a plate honoring my Corgi, Levi. I had tested sgraffito on this piece, and it came out beautifully. The fourth piece is a Saint Bernard pup on a plate, mainly referencing the dog slaughterhouses and how big of a problem it has become. If you didn't notice, there's a carved heart on it's chest, showing that it could've brought love to a kind family or person. The fifth and final piece of this compilation is me, holding my little Levi, in the midst of darkness and depression's dark tendrils. But with Levi in my arms, I know that those monsters will do me no harm. |
